In Man by the Pool by Michael Hartwig, Paolo, a Gay Bostonian, inherits his grandfather’s estate and vineyard in Italy. However, the property’s ancient Roman mosaic interferes with his hope for a quick sale of the property. As he deals with local archaeologist Mauro to resolve the issue, sexual tensions arise between the two as Paolo discovers the family secrets and demons of the past.
The Book Club will meet to discuss this book on Thursday, April 17, 2025, at 10:45 am immediately following the Thursday Morning Breakfast Club. The venue is Nick’s Bistro, located at 36200 Date Palm Drive, Cathedral City, inside of the Date Palm Country Club. Reservations are not necessary for attending the Book Club meeting. Members are welcome to join the Breakfast Club at 9:00 am or join us directly for the Book Club.
